SOS Sept Remix and CSI #366

Some items in the home have a story

For the Remix Challenge from SOS, I followed a sketch that had several strips of patterned paper as a main element and the challenged asked for at least 5 different patterned papers.

For the CSI Challenge For the case I used the yellow color from the scene. Clues: mixed media background (spray glitter, texture paste), sun, circles, fox, animal (fish, butterflies),plaid, text paper, decorative border with paper strip scraps.

SOS Scrap Challenge July ReMix/CSI Challenge Cold Case #362

I got to documenting some local day trips taken during 2020 and 2021.

For SOS Scrapbooking Remix Challenge, I followed a layout for inspiration-I started with the photo collage format and some borders along the top. I broke up the paper matting behind the photos into two strips instead of one. Kept the scalloped strip on the bottom and a paper strip on top. They also asked that a puffy sticker get used so I had a "Hello Weekend" banner and a "Here We Go" stickers.

For the CSI Challenge, I liked the stripes on the tents and triangle tent shapes, a car, also tried to use some of the colors pinks, green and blue that were in the scene.

SOS scrap challenge July Sketch Challenge- TV shows now-a-days

I based the layout off of this Sketch Challenge from SOS Scrap Our Stash . It required using the sketch as the inspiration which I followed pretty closely using the giant ribbon and a strip of paper going down the middle of the page. The challenge also asked that stars be used.

The topic I chose was how TV has become central during the pandemic when it wasn't as big of an activity beforehand for me. But also how TV viewing has changed since being a child.

June 2021 SOS Sketch Challenge: Favorite band/musician

Participated in CSI's Sketch Challenge to make a layout using a sketch and another element-this month it was a wood veneer. I didn't have a real wood embellishment that fit my page theme, but I did use a die cut that had a wood-pattern frame on my right side of the layout.

The left hand picture is one of the actual photos that will be in this layout, my other two are place holders as I have to ask my mom for some photos to show her enjoyment of Beatles music.

What kinds of music or songs have been important/memorable in your life or your subject's life?

June 2021: CSI #358 & SOS Remix Scrapbook challenges Celebrating Travel/Hugging Loved ones!

I am using alternate photos until the ones I order come in but they are the perfect orientation for the four photos I want!

After all the virtual meet ups or limited distanced lunches every few months during 2020, I am extremely grateful to get to have non-screen time with people during a vacation.

For the CSI challenge-used the inspiration of gingham pattern, flowers, heart, label. Used the red, pink and mustard yellow from the color swatch.

For the SOS Remix challenge, I used the design team member's layout to scraplift and the requirement called for polka dots.

April/May 2021 Scrapbook Challenges: CSI & SOS, a Gratitude page

I played along with May SOS Remix Challenge (take inspiration from a layout and use a specific type of product), this month was to use a travel sign. I also made this page using one of the CSI April Challenges which imitated the dusty colors, bunnies, fibers, window from a photograph given by the challenge. I added writing about things I am grateful for this month.

Thank you for coming to my page.

SOS Remix Challenge: April 2021

The SOS scraplift challenge this month asked us to take inspiration from a layout from another scrapbooker and also use butterfly embellishment. I used a few stickers and hand cut my own butterfly embellishment. I used the vertical lines and layering loo behind two photos. Also happy to use the tilde symbols from my silver glitter Thicker alpha stickers as part of the design.

Thanks for stopping by!

SOS Challenge March 2021: Sketch combined with CSI #349 Kites

I followed the sketch for the 4 photo layout on SOS Challenge and combined it with the CSI challenge for March 2021. SOS required that washi tape was used. I usually have a problem with washi tape sticking to my papers (tried several brands too!) so I folded it over on itself and used scissors to cut it into bow ties for the kite. The inspiration for CSI came from the colors of the inspiration picture (pink, blue, yellow) and other elements (kite, stripes, bows, string, diamonds, puffy sticker) and journaling topic for the word "lift".

I made a page about importance of humor to cope during stressful times, to lift our spirits. So many great memes out there. Avatar was also fitting since it was a show I watched during 2020. The other memes involve Sweeney Todd and an artist who re-titled kids' books to fit the pandemic things like "Everyone Poops (but not everyone has toilet paper". As usual, my photos will be on order! I will try to update when I get the photos.

SOS Challenge March: REmix

This challenge was to scraplift a layout and be sure to include a tag. Mine is made from part of a pad of paper with the hole in it. I went more with the layout shapes than the color palette or mixed media. Did some ink dots and false stitches instead of real thread. I plan to use these photos (and awkward Yeti cartoon) below arranged in the blank space, but they probably won't arrive in time for the deadline for the challenge.

February 2021: SOS ReMix Challenge and Layout Challenge

 Challenges are from SOS

The Remix challenge seems to have two versions-one with background paper or embellishments being hearts...and one says use background paper with words. I went off the post with using hearts.

Photos for the layout are coming but not in time to show for the submission deadline. I will try to update the post when I get the photos. It is pictures of family working on building a patio shade together-why I like the wood grain paper and house printed paper for this one.

The Layout challenge states to use hearts as a background or embellishment in addition to following the sketch as a inspiration.

January 2021 SOS Sketch Challenge

Here is the SOS Challenge. I needed to follow a sketch as inspiration for the layout and including journal strips. I left off a title since it's the 2nd page of a two page spread.

Glad to finally get to do a minty green and red combo, had it saved on my Pinterest for a long time. I would love to do that combo somewhere in my home someday.

January 2021 CSI #342/SOS Scrapbook Remix Challenge

Broke into my new Sticko watercolor Alphas and the adorable sloth/coffee stickers. Otherwise just using the bits and bobs I had laying out from other layouts in December.

This page was made doing a Remix (scraplift)  challenge on SOS scrapbooking and also wanted a mixed Alpha use on the page. I cut up a tag that said "celebrate today" to mimic an alpha block sticker set since I didn't have another set of Alpha's with me.

It was also made using elements from CSI Challenge #342stripes, winter elements (coffee cup, pinecone) , fringe, brush/watercolor stickers, animals, yarn, tree, wood pattern (darker pink folding and snipping makes it hard to tell). Testimony is based on the inspiration word "winter". Photos as a collage will be of the magnificent dog who is my pet where the big white rectangle is.

Here are a few of the photos that will be in the collage:

What advice would your pet give you for a certain time of year?
